Made To Measure
Made-to-Measure, also referred to as personal tailoring, describes a practice where a garment is constructed according to the individual specifications of a client to best suit their particular shape, fitting, taste and needs. This type of tailoring gives you the opportunity to choose the trims, fabrics and details on the garments yourself, achieving an individual and highly personalized look while it also takes into account your individual requirements in order to best flatter your silhouette.
The process is initiated by a consultation where the client is assisted in customizing/ designing the garment which they'd like to order by choosing the details, fabrics and trims used to best suit their needs. All the fabrics used at the Nicky Wallace Studio are the highest quality from the finest Italian Producers such as Zegna, Guabello,Delfino and Barberis, featuring wool-cashmere, wool-silk, wool-mohairs, linens, cottons and silks.
During this meeting, the client's detailed measurements are taken to ensure the refined fit that made to measure garments are known for. As well as taking the personal measurements, we carefully observe the customer's figuration to take account of any adjustments that have to be made. Forward and advanced fitting are carried out if required for the client in question. When the fit is perfected, and the style and detail of the desired garment are finalized, the garments are then completed according to the individual requirements of each customer.
In this type of tailoring the main responsibility falls on the person taking measurements.
